Skin Boosters
Skin boosters are injectable treatments designed to improve skin hydration and quality from within by delivering nourishing ingredients (typically hyaluronic acid) directly into the dermis (the deeper layer of skin).
As active injectables working from within, they restore moisture and stimulate collagen production for quick but long-lasting results. Perfect for addressing a lack of radiance, fine lines and dullness, these minimally invasive treatments require little downtime, while offering gradual, subtle improvements which give skin that refreshed, gently lifted appearance. What's more, they won't give the game away that your skin has had a little pick me up.

TREATMENT INFORMATION
-
Your patient journey starts with a chat by phone – or email – to discuss your treatment objectives and the results you are looking to achieve.
We then arrange an in-depth consultation with Dr Paris in clinic, to assess your skin and decide the optimal treatment choices for you.
Virtual consultations are also possible, with the reassurance that we always then assess you in person before undertaking any treatment, to get a clear understanding of your unique skin and facial structure.
When creating your treatment plan, the goal is long-term, sustainable improvements for your skin and overall wellbeing, with continuous care throughout your time with us. The initial consultation helps us ascertain the best options for you, whether that's simply popping in for occasional medifacials or entrusting us with longer term facial rejuvenation.
You'll be able to ask any questions and, particularly if you are considering injectables for the first time, we'll make sure you are fully informed and comfortable with all the options. In short, you're in safe hands and we'll guide you through, led by how you're hoping to feel after treatment.
The range of aesthetic treatments can be overwhelming so we're here to advise you on the best path for you and there is never any pressure to book treatment.

Skin boosters are ideal for anyone wishing to restore skin vibrancy and radiance, and to soften the signs of ageing
The significant boost to hydration plumps skin cells, giving skin a fresher, healthier appearance and helping it to reflect light better. Skin boosters are therefore a great choice for anyone whose skin has lost that youthful bounce and clarity, often from 30s onwards.
Skin boosters also improve the appearance of fine lines, acne scarring and, in some cases, gently lift / tighten skin so they also work well for people experiencing a small degree of skin laxity, along with a dull, dehydrated complexion.
Skin boosters are particularly beneficial for addressing skin dehydration, dullness, crepey texture, and early signs of aging, helping to create a more refreshed and radiant appearance without changing facial features.
-
Skin boosters are active injectable treatments which improve skin quality by injecting a gel-like solution into the deeper layers of skin, to improve hydration, elasticity, and overall skin quality, leading to a smoother, more radiant complexion.
The majority are formulated with hyaluronic acid - the water-attracting molecule naturally occurring in skin, responsible for its hydration but which depletes with age. Other key ingredients that are sometimes included are: glycerol, mannitol, amino acids, antioxidants and a combination of vitamins and minerals.
After skin boosters are injected directly into the dermis, they:
- attract and retain water, providing an instant plumping effect
- activate fibroblasts which trigger collagen and elastin production, leading to longer-term improvements in texture and quality.
As these micro-injections have stimulated skin's natural healing response, they work to hydrate and rejuvenate skin at cellular level, an ongoing process which means results continue to improve over time.
Unlike fillers that add immediate volume to specific areas, skin boosters are administered in multiple small injections across the face / treatment area, to create gradual, natural-looking improvements to skin's health and appearance.

To reduce the risk of bruising, we advise you to avoid:
alcohol for 24 hours before
aspirin, ibuprofen & Omega-3 supplements for 2 days before
After treatment, we advise you to:
not apply makeup for 30 minutes
-
"Numbing cream will be applied to the treatment area beforehand to reduce any discomfort.
You may experience some mild swelling and tenderness at the cannula site.
As with any injectable, there is a small chance that bruising and/or swelling may occur (typically within 48 hours from treatment). We normally use a cannula to minimise this risk."
-
You'll typically see improvements in skin hydration and quality within a few days to a week after a skin booster treatment, with the full, optimal results around 2 to 4 weeks after treatment.
-
Most skin booster treatments begin with 2 or 3 sessions spaced about 2-4 weeks apart. After that initial treatment phase, maintenance treatments are generally recommended every 4 to 6 months, to prolong the benefits to skin. Results from some newer formulations (such as Profhilo) may last 6 to 9 months so would have a longer interval between maintenance sessions.
Your practitioner should always guide you with a recommended treatment schedule to yield best results.
Treatments that are too frequent can potentially cause product buildup and may not give additional benefit, while waiting too long between sessions may lose the benefits your skin has experienced from initial treatment.
Factors which affect treatment frequency include:
Skin booster type
Your skin & any specific concerns
Your age & collagen production rate
Environmental factors (e.g. sun exposure)
Lifestyle factors (e.g. alcohol consumption)
frequently asked questions
-
Skin boosters are injectable skin rejuvenation treatments, focused mainly on promoting deep hydration and collagen production to restore skin quality and radiance.
They are typically formulated with hyaluronic acid, the naturally occurring, water-binding molecule in skin which diminishes as we age, leading to the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and a loss of skin elasticity.
By injecting HA-based skin boosters into skin, they attract and retain water, providing an instant plumping effect. They also stimulate collagen production at cellular level, which leads to improvements in skin texture and quality for a number of months.
-
We fully cleanse skin before any treatment so it is fine for you to wear makeup to the clinic.
We advise that you avoid applying makeup for at least 30 minutes after skin booster treatment.
