Microneedling Facial
Microneedling naturally renews your skin from within, to restore a smoother, more radiant complexion. Professional needling is considered one of the safest aesthetic treatments with enormously effective results, hence its continued popularity in treating fine lines, skin laxity, texture issues, pigmentation, acne scarring or stretch marks.
Our award-winning SkinPen device applies ultra-fine needles to the skin, creating tiny holes deep in the epidermis where it triggers a significant degree of healing, by releasing growth factors which induce collagen and elastic production. What's more, the process allows active ingredients in skincare to penetrate deeper - without needing to pass through the outer layer of skin - so they get to work too.
So simple yet long-lasting and continued results with remodelled clearer, firmer skin.

TREATMENT INFORMATION
-
Your patient journey starts with a chat by phone – or email – to discuss your treatment objectives and the results you are looking to achieve.
We then arrange an in-depth consultation with one of our team, to assess your skin and decide the optimal treatment choices for you.
Virtual consultations are also possible, with the reassurance that we always then assess you in person before undertaking any treatment, to get a clear understanding of your unique skin and facial structure.
When creating your treatment plan, the goal is long-term, sustainable improvements for your skin and overall wellbeing, with continuous care throughout your time with us. The initial consultation helps us ascertain the best options for you, whether that's simply popping in for occasional medifacials or entrusting us with longer term facial rejuvenation.
You'll be able to ask any questions and, we'll make sure you are fully informed and comfortable with all the options. In short, you're in safe hands and we'll guide you through, led by how you're hoping to feel after treatment.
The range of aesthetic treatments can be overwhelming so we're here to advise you on the best path for you and there is never any pressure to book treatment.

Microneedling treatments continue to grow in popularity due to their effectiveness at skin healing and because they are minimally invasive, whilst producing continued improvements which last for months. They are also clinically proven to be safe and are used within the NHS.
Microneedling is suitable for a wide range of skin concerns and is particularly good for:
Acne scars: helping to reduce the appearance of both active acne scars (pitted scars) and hyperpigmentation from previous breakouts.
Fine lines & wrinkles: by stimulating collagen production, which can reduce the appearance of lines, making skin look firmer and smoother.
Uneven skin texture: by smoothing rough areas or unevenness, which may have been caused by acne, sun damage or ageing.
Hyperpigmentation: fading dark spots by speeding up skin cell turnover, improving texture and enhancing the absorption of brightening skincare.
Stretch marks: reducing their appearance by promoting skin regeneration and collagen production where stretchmarks have developed.
Enlarged pores: by tightening skin & reducing pore size.
Overall skin rejuvenation: enhancing skin tone, texture, and radiance.
Microneedling is suitable for most people with healthy skin, but not recommended for those with active skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis or severe acne.
It is used more frequently on the face, neck and décolletage but is also suitable for other areas of the body.
Depending on the patient, skin condition being treated and device, treatments normally involve a degree of post-treatment redness and peeling so it is best to bear that in mind when planning when to have them.

Microneedling works by using tiny needles to create controlled, microscopic injuries in the skin, triggering the body's natural healing response and stimulating collagen and elastin production, which helps improve skin texture and appearance.
Microneedling treatments are administered to your skin by a pen-shaped, handheld instrument with multiple ultra-fine needles at its tip. These create thousands of tiny punctures in the skin which, in turn, trigger your body's natural healing response, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin - essential proteins for skin firmness and elasticity.
The process creates temporary channels which also allow bio-active serums and skincare products to penetrate deeper into the skin while accelerating cellular turnover. New blood vessels form in the treated area, improving circulation and nutrient delivery to skin cells.
Microneedling is also particularly effective in the continued results it produces —collagen continues to remodel for months after treatment, providing ongoing improvements to skin quality, texture, and appearance long after your session.
Clinic treatments are usually carried out with an eletronic pen-shaped device (manual dermarollers are more common at home). Needle lengths vary by device, as do the products used in treatment, depending on your skin and practitioner's recommendation.
-

You would typically a feel light pressure on your skin or a mild buzzing sensation, with minimal discomfort. After microneedling, you may experience some redness, tightness, peeling or the feeling of mild sunburn. We will apply topical anaesthetic to your skin so, you will barely feel a thing, maybe some light pressure with minimal discomfort. After microneedling, you may experience some redness, tightness, peeling or the feeling of mild sunburn. Everybody responds differently and we will adjust the treatment as we go along.
-
Redness from microneedling may last for up to 1 week and most patients will have mild-severe peeling for several days, dependent on the depth of the treatment. Peeling of the skin typically starts from day 1, 2 or 3 and may last up to 2 weeks.
This is completely normal and varies by patient You can expect some redness following treatment, typically 24-48 hours but it can last longer for some. On day 2 you might experience some dry flaking but this is completely normal and some additional moisturiser will help.
-
Results from microneedling last around 9-12 months (this depends on various factors including your skin and if you are having treatment for a specific issue).
-
We normally recommend a course of 3 treatments at six week intervals, followed by maintenance sessions every 9 to 12 months to continue results.
frequently asked questions
-
A microneedling facial is a comfortable, minimally invasive aesthetic treatment where a handheld device containing tiny needles is used to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin to ultimately improve its condition. This process stimulates the body's natural wound healing process, encouraging the production of collagen and elastin (proteins which support skin and keep it firm and springy).
The goal is to improve skin texture, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, minimise scars (e.g. from acne), and enhance the overall appearance of the skin.
In clinic, the treatment is typically carried out with an eletronic pen-shaped device (commonly, SkinPen, Dr Pen or Dermapen). Needle lengths vary by device, as do the products used in treatment, depending on your skin and practitioner's recommendation.
Microneedling is often combined with serums or other topical skin care as the procedure enables them to penetrate deeper into the skin, due to the micro-channels created by needling.
-
Microneedling is generally safe for all skin types, but it's not recommended in some cases - for example, if you have eczema, active acne or open wounds. Some sensitive skins react to microneedling so it's best to discuss your own skin and suitability with us or your practitioner.
-
We fully cleanse skin before any treatment so it is fine for you to wear makeup to the clinic.
We advise that you avoid applying makeup for at least 24 hours post-microneedling treatment.

Microneedling improves acne scars by ultra-fine needles creating tiny 'injuries' in the skin which then lead to it healing. The process stimulates collagen and elastin production, accelerates cellular turnover and forms blood vessels in the treated area, improving circulation and nutrient delivery to skin cells, and triggers the healing response. This helps to fill in depressed scars, smooth out skin texture, and reduce the appearance of scars. The process also allows skincare products (containing ingredients to further improve scar healing) to penetrate deep into the skin.
Multiple sessions are typically needed for the best results.
